BIT Academic Advising
BIT JUNIORS and SENIORS: |
|---|
My name is Dr. R. Martin Jones. I am using the BIT Advising Site on Scholar for advising contact information, announcements, scheduling advising appointments and posting information that should be helpful to you.
Scholar is very much like Blackboard. You log in and then see your courses. In this case, when you login to Scholar, you'll see the BIT Advising Site. You get to Scholar here.
You should see the Scholar login page like this.
If you don't see the Scholar Login Page, contact VT 4Help (540) 231-HELP (4357).
If you get to the Scholar Login Page okay, then
- Log in with your VT PID.
- You should see BIT Advising as one of your sites in the top banner. If it doesn't show up on the banner, look under the My Sites pull-down on the top right.
If the BIT Advising site shows up, select it and go from there.
If the BIT Advising site doesn't show up for you in Scholar, then we need to fix that.
- Log into MyVT.
- Click on the "Courses" tab at the top.
- Under "Registration and Schedule" in the middle of the page,
- Click on "View General Student Information."
- See if
1. Dr. R. Martin Jones is listed as your Advisor and
2. You are a BIT major with Upper Division Standing in Business (meaning a Junior or Senior on the official record).

1. Regardless of who is your Advisor 2. You are NOT yet Officially recognized as a Junior or Senior |
Contact the Pamplin Undergraduate Office and get your upper division clearance cleared up first. You won't be able to take junior level classes until you get that cleared up. See the FAQs (PDF File) regarding UDC in the College of Business. |
