Ralph D. Badinelli is Professor of Business Information Technology. He received the Ph.D., M.S. in Management and M.S. in Physics from
Purdue
University
, and the B.S. degree in Mathematics and Physics from
Hofstra
University
. Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Dr. Badinelli worked as Production Planning Supervisor for the optics division of a west-coast laser manufacturer. He has consulted with a number of companies on planning, forecasting, and software development. His primary teaching and research interests are in the area of operations management and operations research. He has also taught many executive-development seminars on the subject of project management, process improvement and decision modeling. He has published in Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Sciences, Naval Research Logistics, International Journal of Production Research, Computers and Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, and the Journal of the International Academy of Hospitality Research. Dr. Badinelli is a member of INFORMS, and a certified member of APICS. Dr. Badinelli has been a PI or co-PI on several funded research projects. He has received the R. B. Pamplin College of Business Certificate of Teaching Excellence.
